MINUTES OF MEETING:   August 2, 2006

1920- Meeting called to order by Chapter President DCC Jim Kline.  Smoking Lamp Extinguished.

MEMBERS PRESENT:

DCC James Kline, AETCS Robin Sparks, AETC Mark Haney, BMC Eric Guerette, BMC Bo Hause, 
BMC Timaree Sparks,  SKCS Charles Bible, MKC Kenley Hallock (Ret), ETC David Minehart, 
ETCS Mark Huntleman, AMC Rex Barton (Ret), AMTC Keith Lloyd, MKC Mack Gasson. 

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE/PREAMBLE/Moment of Silence. 

MINUTES: Accepted as presented. 

SELECTED CORRESPONDENCE:  None.

TREASURER’S REPORT: 

-    Total Funds Available:  $2,134.60.  2 checks were issued for convention costs in the amount of
 $65 and $1,200.   

-    Received $50 Booster from MKC Kenley Hallock (Ret).  

-    Motion was made and carried to accept the treasurer report as read.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

·   CHAPTER BY-LAWS: Chairman:  AETCS Robin Sparks – Rough draft is 75% complete.  Completed 
draft should be ready for review by October meeting. 

·   PUBLIC RELATIONS:  Chairman:  ETCS Bruce MacIntire - NTR

·   FINANCE:  Co-Chairman’s: SKCS Charles “Marty” Bible, MKCS Rich Fichter (Ret) -NTR

·   SPECIAL OLYMPICS: Chairman:  AETCS Robin Sparks  - NTR   

ADHOC-COMMITTEE REPORTS:

·   PLANNING: Co-Chairman: AETC Dan Morisset  & AETC Travis Cholewa -NTR

·   FUND RAISING: Chairman: BMC Timaree Sparks -NTR

·   GOLF: Chairman:  CWO Vance Murphy & AETC Dan Morisset –Date for fall tournament has been 
changed to September 1^st due to conflict with CGC HAMMERHEAD Change of Command.   
  BMC Hause will be helping with the cooking.   

·   MEMBERSHIP: Chairman: AETC Mark Haney - NTR

UNFINISHED BUSINESS:

·   Debts & Donations: Chapter President settled debt with the Weary Traveler.   The pool table,
 grill, table & chairs, and stove will remain at the Weary Traveler and in return the CPOA will 
receive a check for $500.  MKC Kenley Hallock (Ret) delivered the check for $500 to the chapter
 President on behalf of the Weary Traveler.  All debts in this matter are now settled. 

NEW BUSINESS:

·   Convention: President requested to know if anyone had anything to be brought up at the CPOA Convention.  AETC Mark Haney inquired of chapter membership dues being provided to the Chapter 
from National.    

·   September 6^th meeting will be a potluck to be served during the meeting.  Everyone attending is encouraged to bring a dish or something for the grill.    

·     A motion was made and passed to hold the October 4^th meeting at 1300.  

·   MKC Kenley Hallock (Ret) inquired of the ships pictures and plaques.  The Crossing the Bar plaque 
needs to have ATCS Bill Sawyer added.  AMTC Keith Lloyd will do the engraving.  

FOR THE GOOD OF THE ORDER:

·   We encourage new boosters to the Cape Cod Chapter.  If you would like to become a booster
 contact any of the chapter officers.  Donations are as little at $10.00 per year.  

·   BMC Bo Hause reminded everyone about the Rhode Island Veterans Home BBQ/Lunch on
 13 Sep 2006.  He needs a RSVP by September 1st.  

·   A reminder that the flag dedication is on August 11^th.  

50/50:   A total of $32.00 was collected.  BMC Timaree Sparks donated her winnings to the General 
Fund.
