MINUTES: Minutes accepted as posted.

-    MKCM (Ret) Pitts made motion that the meeting be conducted under the rules of Executive Session so that only those members in good standing are allowed to remain present and such other business as my come until the meeting is adjourned.  **Motion carried and the following people left; AMTCM Matt Schenk, AMTCS Jeff Amatrudo, BMC John Westlund, YNC John Cassel, BMCM Andy Germann, DCC Howard Greeson, HSC Mark Fay, AETCS Robin Sparks, AETC Mark Haney, FSC Lance Holvoet

SELECTED CORRESPONDENCE: 

-    Chapter President directed the Secretary to read the additions and suspension lists from the November & December Executive Summaries.

TREASURERS REPORT:  Minutes accepted as posted with the final total in the CPOA General Fund of $8130.08.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

C&BL: Chairman: MSTC Mike Popovich - NTR

PUBLIC RELATIONS: Chairman: ETCS Bruce MacIntire -NTR

FINANCE: Co-Chairman’s:  ADCM Ken Norton (Ret), MSGT Tom Coyle (Ret) –Five requests were presented since last meeting:

·      American Cancer Society: Specific amount not requested and the committee recommended no donation.

·      Shriners Burn Center: Committee recommends $100.00 on behalf of QMC Dennis Horrick

·      Samaritins: Committee recommends $100.00

·      Member of local CG hockey team: Committee recommends $200.00 for member to participate in CGHQ tournament.

·      CPOA Wheelhouse equipment storage: Committee recommends setting aside approximately $900 for storage and packing expenses.

SPECIAL OLYMPICS:  Chairman:  YNCM Pete Gallagher (Ret)

-    YNCM Gallagher stated the following based on the results of the January 7th, 2004 meeting: “Shame on you (CPOA) for using Special Olympics as a crutch… I am fully committed to supporting Special Olympics.” and announced the date for Special Olympics is set for June 11th, 2004.

ADHOC-COMMITTEE REPORTS:

PLANNING: Chairman - Vacant - Chapter President announced that due to the current chairs status, the Chapter would be looking for a new committee chair.

FUND RAISING: Chairman - ETCS Bruce MacIntire-NTR

GOLF : Chairman - SFC (Ret) Dick Pratt, MKCM (Ret) Tim Pitts,  ETCM Dave Pouler

-    MKCM (Ret) Tim Pitts has volunteered to Chair  the Spring Tournament.

ELECTION COMMITTEE: Chairman - ETCS Bruce MacIntire 

-    Received nominations for the Chapter Officers as follows:

o      President:  MKCM (Ret) Tim Pitts

o      Vice President:  BMC (Ret) Scott Backholm

o      Secretary:    MSTC Jeff Perdue

o      Treasurer:   SFC (Ret) Dick Pratt

-    MKCM (Ret) Pitts withdrew his nomination for Vice President

-    BMC (ret) Scott Backhom  declined his nomination as Vise-President

-    Motion made to hold open the Chapter Elections pending confirmation from ETCM Dave Pouler’s status for Chapter President

OLD BUSINESS:

    Chapter President presented SFC (Ret) Dick Pratt with the “Chief of the Year” Award.

-    Motion made to return the tabled Special Olympics motion from the January 7th 2004 meeting to the floor.  Motion carried

NEW BUSINESS:

-    MKCS (Ret) Rich Fichter made a motion to donate $100.00 to the Shriners Burn Unit on behalf of QMC Horrick. Motion carried.

-    MKCM (Ret) Tim Pitts made a motion that the March 3,2004 meeting be held at “The Weary Travelers Club, Valley Bars Rd. Bourne, Mass., at the regularly scheduled time. Motion carried.

-    MKCM (Ret) Tim Pitts made a motion that $250.00 be allocated and budgeted for moving supplies and storage boxes. Motion carried.

-    MKCM (Ret) Tim Pitts made a motion that a chairperson be appointed to an Ad-hoc moving and property committee be established for proper custody and accounting of property under the stewardship, ownership and cognizance of The CC Chapt CPOA. Motion carried.

-    MKCM (Ret) Tim Pitts made a motion that the Chapter allocate funds for storage facilities to secure CC CPOA property in the estimated amount of $900.00 total ($150.00/month) not to exceed 6 months at which time an extension may be granted if required. Further: that these amounts are estimates and that the membership will be advised by special correspondence if necessary to obtain approval for increased funding if it I necessary. Motion carried.

-    Motion made to accept remaining donations from the Finance Committee. Motion carried

-    MKCM (Ret) Tim Pitts made a motion that an Ad-hoc exploratory committee be established to seek alternate long-term meeting facilities for CC CPOA Chapter. Further: that this committee to be chaired/co-chaired by Dick Pratt and another unnamed chapter member in good standing. Motion was amended to include the returning Chapter Officers (MSTC Jeff Perdue and SFC (Ret) Dick Pratt). Motion carried as amended.

FOR THE GOOD OF THE ORDER:

-    MKCM (Ret) Tim Pitts requests that the Chapter CPOA members muster at the “Wheelhouse” on February 23, 2004 0800 hours for group photo and striking of the colors. Further: that uniform is SDB’s, suitable dress uniform of other services and appropriate civilian attire for retirees and civilians.

-    By order of the Chapter President, MKCM (Ret) Tim Pitts secured a dedicated PO Box at the N. Falmouth Post Office. The new address is:

-    Cost of PO Box is $46.00 per year

50/50 – A total of $20.00 was collected.  AMTC Barrera was the winner and the collection was donated to the General Fund.
