MINUTES OF MEETING: February 1st 2006

MEMBERS PRESENT:

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE/ PREAMBLE/ MOMENT OF SILENCE

MINUTES: Minutes accepted as presented.

SELECTED CORRESPONDENCE: 

   Jeff Perdue has printed a hard copy of the National Operations Manual and Chapter & By-Laws.

   Moe Copper sent a request to change his address along with a donation to the Boosters.  Thanks Moe!

   Received memo from the Air Station Commanding Officer  for permission to use Bldg 5214 for
 the CPOA meeting.  SCPO Sparks mentioned that the CPOA could use the Bldg for future 
meetings and other events as well.

   Received donation to the boosters from Tom Coyle. Thanks Tom!

TREASURERS REPORT:   Not  present.   Bruce MacIntire did speak with the Treasurer last 
week and was advised that there was approximately a balance of $3900.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

C&BL: Chairman:  - National Chapter By-laws have been updated.

PUBLIC RELATIONS: Chairman: ETCS Bruce MacIntire

   NTR

FINANCE: Co-Chairman’s:  ADCM Ken Norton (Ret), MSG Tom Coyle (Ret)

   Received a request and recommended a donation be sent in honor of BMC(Ret) Gary 
Greenwood of Sandwich, MA who recently passed away.

SPECIAL OLYMPICS:  .  Robin Sparks volunteered to chair this event.   Pete Gallagher has 
already sent a memo to the National Guard requesting to use the base gym on 16 June for the event.  This will be the 18th Annual event held by the CPOA.   Pete suggested to let the Habilitation Assistance Corporation coordinator take care of the  tents, chairs, and food and other items needed and have the CPOA donate the funds which have run about $1000-$1200. Thanks Robin and also a great Thanks to Pete who has chaired the committee for years!

ADHOC-COMMITTEE REPORTS:

PLANNING: Chairman – Vacant

FUND RAISING: Chairman - ETCS Bruce MacIntire
 - NTR
GOLF : Chairman - Looking for Chairperson for 2006 spring event. Will need to start planning 
next meeting.
OLD BUSINESS: 

-   Finance items tabled at the last meeting will remain that way until the Treasurer’s report is received.  Kenley also mentioned we owe Lawrence Gardens for flowers that were sent out in the past.

-  Bruce MacIntire procured a plate in honor of Jerry Piunti for the donation of the pool table.

 

NEW BUSINESS:

- There were discussions on holding various chapter meetings at different times and/or days, but 
the members present decided it would be best to keep all of the meetings on the same 
1st Wednesday and same time.

 

-  Bo Hause volunteered to host a meeting in Bristol, RI at the ELKS Lodge next to USCG ANT 
Bristol Station.  Motion was carried to plan hold the April meeting there.

- Motion was passed to donate $50 to the Shrine Burn Center in memory of BMC (Ret) Gary Greenwood.

- Nominations for new Chapter Officers are open to be installed at the May meeting.  Bo Hause volunteered to chair the election committee. Thanks Bo!  If you would like to nominate anyone for
 the positions, you may sent Bo and email at hghause@antbristolri.uscg.mil or contact any of the current chapter officers.

- The following nominations were received during the meeting.:

FOR THE GOOD OF THE ORDER:

-  A member  stated that Bill Roberts is well again and back at home and work.

50/50 – $16 was collected and Jeff Perdue donated his winnings to the general fund.  Thanks Jeff 
and all those that donated.
