MINUTES OF MEETING: June 7th, 2006

1916- Meeting called to order by Chapter President DCC Jim Kline.  Smoking Lamp Extinguished.

  MEMBERS PRESENT:

SELECTED CORRESPONDENCE:

-Received a Thank You card from Mrs. Kate Bardsley on behalf of the Cape Cod Chiefs Mess.

-Received request for donation from The Samaritans on Cape Cod and the Islands. 

-Received letter from CPOA National President, subject: CCCAF Convention Committee Report of 15 Sep 2005.

-Received letter from CPOA National President, subject: Elizabeth City Resolution Entitled “Board of Directors Quorum.”

-Received flier invitation including chiefs to a BBQ honoring RADM Pekoske, District Commander 1st CG District.

TREASURERS REPORT:

-    Total Funds Available:  $3126.60

-    Motion was made and carried to accept the treasurer report as read.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

·   CHAPTER BY-LAWS:  Chairman:  AETCS Robin Sparks – YNC Simon Waldern and BMC Eric Guerrette to review MT Hood Chapter By-Laws for use by the Cape Cod Chapter.

·   PUBLIC RELATIONS:  Chairman:  ETCS Bruce MacIntire -NTR

·   F&B:  New! Co-Chairman’s: SKCS Charles “Marty” Bible, MKCS Rich Fichter (Ret) -NTR

·   SPECIAL OLYMPICS: Chairman:  AETCS Robin Sparks

-    On schedule for 16 June, 2006 at the MMR Base Gym. 

-    CDR Gibbons, Executive Officer Air Station Cape Cod, to be a guest speaker at event.

-    52 confirmed volunteers and possible media presence expected.  Volunteers requested arrival time is 0800.  

 

ADHOC-COMMITTEE REPORTS:

·   PLANNING: New! Co-Chairman: AETC Dan Morisset  & AETC Travis Cholewa -NTR

·   FUND RAISING: New! Chairman: BMC Timaree Sparks & HSC Jackson -NTR

·   GOLF: Chairman:  CWO Vance Murphy & AETC Dan Morisset –Event planned for fall and will be open to the public.  Preliminary details and flier will be presented next meeting. 

·   MEMBERSHIP: New! Chairman: AETC Mark Haney - NTR

UNFINISHED BUSINESS:

·   Debts & Donations: A written contract is in place for $75 for taxes associated with the pool table and a verbal contract to pay ˝ cable television expense to be paid monthly to the Weary Traveler.  No payments have been made to date; est. outstanding debt is $2000.  3 options for payment are proposed by Chapter President, (1) pay in cash, (2) pay in assets, or (3) pay in cash and assets.  Option 2 is preferred by chapter officers and supported by members present.  Offered payment in assets will include the Vulcan cooking stove, 3 televisions, and 7 small tables with chairs. 

·   Asset Allocation:  Communications are in progress with MWR to put the Pool table in the Air Station Cape Cod Activity Center.  The plaques and historical items will be boxed and stored until a suitable display case can be built.  

NEW BUSINESS:

·   Donations from Spring 2006 CCTI to the CG 36500 small boat will be matched by the Chapter up to $200.  Literature provided for members to review. 

·   Congratulations and welcome to the new committee chairpersons noted under the reports section.  

·     It was mentioned that the vote to move future meetings to the Air Station Cape Cod Mess was not done with proper vote to all members of the chapter.  However, it is further noted that the move to the Weary Traveler was not properly voted on, therefore, negating the issue raised. 

FOR THE GOOD OF THE ORDER:

·   4th of July party for all area Chiefs and their families hosted by the Air Station Chiefs Mess.  Location will be the Osborne Mess and $5 per person or $15 per family.  Fun activities for the kids such as a bounce house, fishing tournament, with hot dogs and burgers for all.  A flier will be sent out soon to the area mess.   

50/50:   A total of $50.00 was collected.  BMC Timaree Sparks donated her winnings to the General Fund.

Raffle: ADCM Kevin Lineweber (Ret) was the lucky winner of an authentic CPO ballcap!
