PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE/ PREAMBLE/ MOMENT OF SILENCE  

1905 - Recessed to move upstairs meeting hall in the Weary Traveler to accommodate large turnout for meeting.

1915 – Reconvened in upstairs meeting hall.

MINUTES: Minutes accepted as posted.

- Motion made to amend January and February membership list to exclude names of non-chapter participants.  Discussion from the membership recommended that the names not be changed from the February meeting since the minutes listed the names for the participants that departed the meeting.

SELECTED CORRESPONDENCE:  Reviewed the following:

-  Letter from Boston Chapter concerning D1 EPOY ceremony and requesting a donation from the other 1st District Chapters.

- Flyer from Mobile Chapter concerning raffle for prizes with 1st Place being a 2004 Yamaha 250 Bear Tracker, 2nd Place being a $500 US Savings Bond; and 3rd Place being a $200 US Savings Bond.

- Thank you card from FS2 Kaiser for $200 donation for support from the Chapter for his participation in the CGHQ hockey tournament.

-  Thank you letter from the Samaritans for the recent donation of $100 from the Chapter on behalf of QMC (Ret) Horrick.

-  Five emails from area chiefs expressing concerns from the February meeting: AETC Haney, FSC Holvoet, YNC Cassel and AETCS Sparks.  Emails will be available upon request to Chapter Secretary.

-  Letter from the Commanding Officer, Air Station Cape Cod concerning his reasoning for terminating the concessionaire contract and turning over the operation of “The Wheelhouse” to the Air Station Chief’s Mess.  Letter will be available upon request to Chapter Secretary.

-  Email from Commanding Officer, Air Station Cape Cod reminding the Chapter that the building is an Air Station Building and that proper coordination and resolution of remaining property.  Email will be available upon request to Chapter Secretary.

- Letter from Chapter President concerning status of Chapter elections.  Motion made and carried not to read letter since majority received letter by email or by separate mailing.

- Email reply’s to Chapter President’s letter mentioned above.

- Email concerning Chapter’s charter status.  National CPOAs’ website showed that the Cape Cod Chapter’s charter was suspended.  It was learned from reviewing the gross receipt reports for the last three years that the reports WERE submitted, however there was a typographical error on the report for 2002.  The email requests reinstatement.

1955 – Fifteen minute recess.

2010 – Reconvene meeting.

TREASURERS REPORT:  Minutes accepted as posted with the final total in the CPOA General Fund of $7665.00.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

C&BL: Chairman: MSTC Mike Popovich - NTR

PUBLIC RELATIONS: Chairman: ETCS Bruce MacIntire -NTR

FINANCE: Co-Chairman’s:  ADCM Ken Norton (Ret), MSGT Tom Coyle (Ret) –Five requests were presented since last meeting:

·    Boston EPOY dinner: Committee recommended $150.00

·    Boy Scouts: Committee recommends $100.00 for local troop.

·    Lung Association: Committee recommends $100.00 on behalf of Betsy Anne Hallock.

·    Silver Lifetime Award: Committee recommends $300.00 Gerry Piunti’s honor.

SPECIAL OLYMPICS:  Chairman:  YNCM Pete Gallagher (Ret)

-  YNCM Gallagher stated that all the suppliers are already on track for providing the tents and portable toilets to the base gym and stated that everything is set for Special Olympics to commence on June 11th, 2004.

ADHOC-COMMITTEE REPORTS:

PLANNING: Chairman - Vacant – Still looking for a new committee chair.

FUND RAISING: Chairman - ETCS Bruce MacIntire-NTR

GOLF : Chairman - SFC (Ret) Dick Pratt, MKCM (Ret) Tim Pitts,  ETCM Dave Pouler

-   MKCM (Ret) Tim Pitts reports that he is looking at a Monday in the first two weeks in June for the tournament. More to follow.

ELECTION COMMITTEE: Chairman - ETCS Bruce MacIntire 

-  Received nominations for the Chapter Officers as follows:

o      President:  MKCM (Ret) Tim Pitts

o      Vice President:  Nominee withdrawn/VACANT

o      Secretary:    MSTC Jeff Perdue

o      Treasurer:   SFC (Ret) Dick Pratt

OLD BUSINESS:  None

NEW BUSINESS:

-    Motion made to donate $100.00 to the Lung Association on behalf of Mrs Hallock. Motion carried.

-    BMCM Germann made a motion to re-open the Chapter Elections for all offices.  Motion was seconded but during discussion it was unclear whether it was possible to reopen.  Motion was then made to withdraw.  The motion to withdraw carried.

-    Motion made for the Secretary to cast one vote for each nominated Chapter Officer from the Election Committee.  Motion carried and one vote is cast for President: MKCM (Ret) Tim Pitts; Secretary: MSTC Jeff Perdue; Treasurer: SFC (Ret) Dick Pratt

-   Motion made to accept recommendations of Finance Committee report, as read.  Motion carried.

-   Motion made to have the April 7, 2004 meeting at “The Weary Travelers Club, Valley Bars Rd. Bourne, Mass., at the regularly scheduled time. Motion carried.

-   MKCM (Ret) Tim Pitts made a motion to have BMC Westlund be selected for the vacant Vice President position.  Motion carried.  Vote cast for nominee.

FOR THE GOOD OF THE ORDER:

-     DCC Greeson had general comments concerning last months meeting and that he intends to remain active in this Chapter after retirement.

-    SFC (Ret) Dick Pratt also had general comments concerning last months meeting and that Gerry Piunti is out of the hospital

-    MKC (Ret) Kenley Hallock reported that there were four people at the “Striking the Colors” ceremony at ”The Wheelhouse” on February 23, 2004 0800 hours and that the colors would be properly disposed of on behalf of the Chapter. 

50/50 – A total of $29.00 was collected.  ASMCS (Ret) Roberts was the winner and the collection was donated to the General Fund.
