Crossing The Bar

Sunset and evening star,

And one clear call for me!

And may there be no moaning of the bar,

When I put out to sea,

But such a tide as moving seems asleep,

Too full for sound and foam,

When that which drew from out the boundless deep

Turns again home.

Twilight and evening bell,
And after that the dark!

And may there be no sadness of farewell,

When I embark;

For tho’ from out our bourne of Time and Place

The flood may bear me far,

I hope to see my Pilot face to face

When I have crossed the bar.

It is a high honor and great pleasure for me to be able to serve the Cape Cod Chapter of the CPOA.

I look forward to working with the newly elected and installed officers, the membership and the Board of Directors of the USCG CPOA.

To the Past Chapter Officers, thank you for your faithful service in doing a fine job for the members of the Chapter.

It is a time for preserving the past not looking back at it as that’s the way we used to do it. It is clearly different times and is an opportunity to move forward to a bright successful future that we may uphold our traditions and the motto of CPOA.

Some of the goals and accomplishments that I have are;

- To review the standing rules of the chapter and publish them.

- To establish the Special Olympics as a standing committee.

- To have the minutes of the meetings published and mailed within 7 calendar days of a meeting.

 -To send the Chapter VP to the National Annual Convention to observe parliamentary processes in all it’s CPOA Glory. If the membership decides to send a representative to the convention.

- To have central collection of information on a chapter owned and maintained computer so that we are truly independent.

- To move committee chairmanship around by appointment so that there is better and broader working knowledge of our committees and functions.

- The establish a master at arms to liaise with the management of the Weary Travelers club by making it a standing committee that must report to the membership on a monthly basis.

- To sign into and indefinite agreement with the Weary Travelers as their tenant.

- To establish and maintain a property list of the CC Chapter CPOA holdings and assets.

 - To hold informational lecture with guest speakers of approx 30-60 minutes following meetings.

- To continue serving our USCG community as we have in the past and to bring new things to the community such as working with the local Masonic Lodge to do things for the military dependent children such as the Mason’s CHIP’s program.

 Thank You,

I look forward to your support, encouragement and criticism.
